ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF QUANTITY SURVEYOR
· Estimation of material quantities - Measure the drawings and calculate the quantities of materials to procure such as Cement, Sand, Aggregates, Steel, Bricks, Blocks, Tiles, paint, etc.
· Rate Analysis: Prepare detailed rate analysis for all the works at site
· Procuring Contracts -Estimate quantities and do rate analysis, Issue Tenders/RFQs, hold negotiation meetings, finalise contracts, issue work orders/agreements etc
· Monthly bill checking - Prepare monthly bills based on work done on site, check the contractor’s monthly bills.
· Material reconciliation - Prepare reconciliation statement based on the Qty. of Materials received, Qty. of materials used, balance on site and then calculate the material wastage.
· Preparing reports - Prepare monthly Cost reports, progress reports, Cash flow reports etc.
Design & Planning Stage:
· Preparing initial cost estimates from sketch designs.
· Cost appraisal and advice, financial feasibility studies, cost comparison of designs in relation to client’s budget.
· Preparing Bills of Quantities from advanced drawings.
Tendering Stage
· Preparing tender / contract documents - Conditions of Contract, Form of Building Contract, Specifications, Tender Form, Drawings and Bills of Quantities.
· Tender administration - Evaluation of submitted bids and selecting the best contractor for the project.
Contract Administration Stage
· Visiting the site on a regular basis to take measurements of work in progress.
· Preparing monthly valuation certificates of work done on site.
· Preparing payment certificates for work done on site approved by the Architect.
· Valuation of variation orders issued by the Architect.
· Accounting for materials on site.
· Using Bills of Quantities for cost control.
· Preparing Bills of Re measurements.
· Preparing cash flow and cost reports
· Ensuring and enforcing contractor compliance with contract clauses. Handling disputes between contractor and client.
· Preparing the Final Account.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: ₹200,000.00 - ₹500,000.00 per year
