Summary
The General Manager (GM) of ViaVid Broadcasting Corp. (ViaVid) is responsible for improving efficiency and increasing profits while managing the company's overall operations. The GM oversees the sales, booking, pre-record, transcription and production departments. The GM co-ordinates the product pricing and negotiates rates with Vendors. The GM works with the Board of ViaVid on hiring staff, setting operating budgets and product pricing.
Reports to
The Directors of ViaVid.
Duties and responsibilities
- Overseeing daily operations of the business
- Creating new strategies for growth and putting them into practice
- Overseeing the budget and managing expenses
- Training lower-level supervisors
- Hiring and terminating employees
- Evaluating productivity and performance and implementing strategies for improvement
- Keeping reports of business and employee performance, client retention etc.
- Communicating with clients and negotiating with vendors
Qualifications
- A university degree or college diploma in business administration, finance or other discipline related to ViaVid's business
- 5 years experience in a management position similar to ViaVid's business

What you will have the opportunity to do :
Business Development:
- Work with the board to maintain a business development strategy that will result in annual growth
- Maintain and develop relationships with industry associations
- Manage remote staff and maintain efficiencies in payroll costs.
- select and implement cloud based customer service and communications solutions.
Team Management:
- Promote a culture of high performance, accountability and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to all team members. Identify training initiatives that will assist members of the team to develop their skill sets and ultimately result in improved performance and their opportunity for advancement.
- Work with the board and our accounting department to manage the human resources activities including selection, performance management, employee engagement and learning.
- Direct and manage performance, addresses employee concerns, maintains adequate staffing levels, and facilitates team development.
Customer Service:
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with clients, venues, vendors and supporting functions and departments.
- Responds promptly, professionally, effectively, and efficiently to internal and external customer needs.
- Manages difficult or emotional situations. Recognizes a sense of urgency in responding to needs. Follow up to ensure requests and/or needs are met. Ensures commitments are met consistently
- Work with the board to select and implement a customer service cloud solution best suited for ViaVid's needs.
Financial Management & Reporting:
- Drive Results by managing an efficient and profitable operation with a focused approach on revenue maximization and profitability using cost control measures
- Develop a business plan for each new fiscal year with a corresponding financial budget. Manage the Branch office within the approved capital expenditures budget.
- Review monthly financial reports and initiate appropriate measures to maintain or exceed budgeted projections.
- Maintain an understanding of the financial processes and systems

Your a perfect fit if you have:
- Bachelor's Degree with Business / Marketing/Communications major preferred
- 5+ years of related experience running a customer service driven business unit with 5 or more staff
- Good Technical knowledge of Computers and telephony
- Solid understanding of financial statements, basic accounting, job cost systems and employment laws
- Demonstrated ability to effectively hire, manage, train and motivate employees
- Strong leadership, communication and collaboration skills
- Articulate and comfortable presenting to key stakeholders
