Registered Nurse - Fu! ll Time Position
This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference for first time mothers and their children by joining The Partnership for Maternal and Child Health of Northern New Jersey: Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) Program. The NFP is a nationally replicated nurse home visitation program that has been rigorously evaluated for more than 25 years. The program has demonstrated significant improvements in pregnancy outcomes, parenting skills and family self-sufficiency. Home visiting begins during pregnancy and continues until the child's second birthday.
As a member of the Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) team you will provide prenatal and early childhood case management through regular home visits for first time mothers, carrying a caseload of no more than 25 families (per full time RN). A nurse home visitor (NHV) assesses the medical and social needs of high-risk pregnant women and infants; NHVâs utilize a set of evidence based guidelines to manage and ! evaluate the clients assigned to the nurseâs caseload.
Qualifications - For Nurse Home Visitor Position:
Registered Nurse (BSN or higher degree) with a minimum of two years nursing experience in OB/GYN, Maternal Child Health, Pediatrics, Community Health or Family Practice. Preferred Bilingual (Fluency in Spanish); Enthusiastic and committed to community health and social change; must demonstrate respect for individuals and cultural diversity; nonjudgmental, understanding and compassionate. Applicant must be able to work in low-income communities; have strong advocacy and teaching skills; has organizational and time management skills; utilize nursing processes and clinical expertise; builds therapeutic relationships. Independently motivated as well as able to work with a team of health care professionals.
Applicant must be able to travel to home visits by personal car. Must have a valid driverâs license and personal vehicle with up to date registration & insurance.
Must be available to travel out of area, for one week of NFP training.
