Reporting to the Patient Care Services Assistant Vice President, The Di! rector of Nursing & Patient Care Services is responsible for assisting the Nursing Executive Council in defining, planning, developing, implementing and evaluating the philosophy and objectives for their designated areas to ensure the optimal delivery of care and services to all patients in an environment that promotes professional development and continues to assure financial viability. The primary goal is the delivery of quality, compassionate, culturally competent, cost-effective and efficient care to individuals, families and communities served. The Director Nursing & Patient Care Services works with the Nursing Executive Council to ensure the primary goal of Nursing is implemented in their designated areas.

The Director of Nursing & Patient Care Services will oversee the Level III NICU, Level III Regional Perinatal Center, Family Center Care Units, Labor and Delivery, Pediatrics, Pediatric Critical Care, Ambulatory Care clinics under OB/GYN, Pediatric Health, ! and High Risk Infant Specialties. Saint Barnabas Medical Cente! r has over 5500 births a year. The 56-bed NICU offers the latest treatments and modalities in the field to provide the most advanced care for more than 1,200 premature and ill newborns each year; The Department of Pediatrics at Saint Barnabas offering the expertise of a specialized team of physicians, including, neonatologists, pediatric critical care physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, child life coordinators, social workers and all other health care professionals dedicated to the well-being of the patients we serve.

A new state-of-the-art $8 million McMullen Children’s Center, a “hospital within a hospital” designed to meet the medical and emotional needs of young patients. Pediatric inpatient services, including a 10-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, are centralized within one area of the Medical Center. The Children’s Center offers the latest technologies, child-friendly patient rooms and a cheerfully-decorated playroom, family friendly lounges! and lobbies, a parent overnight room, sibling play areas and access to the finest pediatric care available.

Requirements:
Current and active NJ RN Licensure
Masters degree required
Minimum 3 years recent experience in a Leadership role in an acute care setting
Membership in professional organizations
Certifications in Pediatric Critical Care/Pediatrics or Maternal Child Health specialties preferred
Goal and outcome oriented,
Excellent service excellence skills and philosophy
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Visionary with the ability to develop the Maternal Child Health Programs
Proven goals and outcomes
Work collaboratively with Physicians, Clinical Practitioners, Intensivists and Senior Administrative Leadership
