Location: Ridgewood New Jersey

Description: Valley Health is at present recruited Sonographer right now, this vacancy will be placed in New Jersey. More details about this vacancy opportunity please read the description below. Summary: Per diem flexible hours. To perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound examinations ranging from routine OB/GYN to high risk Obstetrical scans to include nuchal translucency, fetal anatomy survey, Doppler st! udies, Biophysical profile, Endovaginal sonograms . Experience must include ability to perform guidance for amniocentesis, CVS and SIS procedures. Must be able to work independently and have thorough knowledge of high risk situations.

Education: Associate of Arts or Science degree. Bachelor of Science degree preferred. Certificate from an accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Experience: Registered ultrasound technologist (ARDMS) , Nuchal and nasal bone certification with at least 2 years MFM experience.

Special Skills: RDMS certification in OB/GYN. Physical dexterity to operate sensitive electronic ultrasound equipment to produce images and perform tests on patients requiring placement of equipment in sensitive areas such as the vagina. Knowledge of the fetal circulatory system as well as the ability to function in a sterile environment during procedures. Effective interaction and communication (oral, writing,presenting) skills! are required.

Ability to perform work accurately and! pay attention to details, changing from one task to another without loss of composure or efficiency. Ability to function competently in stressful situations and changing work environments related to changing patient needs. Ability to work cooperatively within the health system using a multidisciplinary approach (i.e. physicians,Patient Care Services and other department staff members).

Ability to use analytical and critical thinking skills to effectively problem-solve. Supervision Expected: Provides guidance to new ultrasound technicians. Supervision Received: Supervsion from the Director/Maternal Child Services. Working Conditions: Hospital environment in a dimly lighted setting with pleasant working conditions.

Standing, walking, sitting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, twisting, reaching, handling, kneeling, and wrist and digital dexterity. Patient lifting, ambulating, and the transfer of patien! ts in wheelchairs, gurneys and beds, and for use of mechanical lifts. Speaking, hearing, and visual acuity to perform tests on patients and receive and interpret instructions. Exposure to potentially dangerous substances, needles, and blood.

OSHA: Bloodborne Pathogen Category II Employees in this job description are not expected to have contact with bloodborne pathogens but MAY have exposure to bloodborne pathogens and as such they are required to be oriented and annually trained under the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration''s Bloodborne Pathogen Standard (CFR 1910.1030)
