Position DescriptionUnder the direction of the VP/Director of Nursing, the Nurse Manager oversees the daily operation of the clinical unit and ensures that all consumers are cared for efficiently and appropriately. The Nurse Manager schedules, assigns, and reviews work of all ancillary staff, provide staff training, conduct performance evaluations, provides direct patient care when needed and responds to medical emergencies. Other duties include participation in Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement activities, making recommendations on departmental Policy and Procedure and collaboration with the Director of Nursing to ensure unit compliance with New Jersey State Department of Health, BCHS, and JCAHO requirements. The nurse manager attends monthly meetings for nursing, departmental and managem! ent teams, and all other duties as assigned by the VP/Director! of Nursing.Job Responsibilities: • Nures Manager provides nursing care including: administration of medications and injections to patients as directed by he Providers; immunizations; referrals to other providers and community health resources; and health instructions to patients following examinations.• Monitors patient flow and, in the case of patient overflow, assists Medical Assistants in preparation of examination rooms, preparation of patients for exam, and taking of vital signs of patients. Performs other routine procedures (i.e., weighing and measuring), as necessary.• Nurse Manager assists Director of Nursing to adequately supply routine medical supplies; reorders supplies through established purchasing procedures, and maintains adequate levels.• Maintains updated file of referrals and provides referral information to Providers.• Triage calls from Call Center and walk-in patients for the office.• Nurse Manager assists in preparation of nursing, Medical ! Assistant and support staff schedules and assures that adequate coverage is provided to providers and clinic sessions.• Provides direct and/or indirect patient care oriented toward improving or maintaining health and preventing illness. • Nurse Manager observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies Provider of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents. • Initiates a patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by Provider and CAMCARE HEALTH CORPORATION policy including patient and family instruction. • Maintains and updates patient charts, records, and information via EMR. • Nurse Manager anticipates potential safety concerns in the environment of care and intervene.• Performs other duties as assigned. Leadership: • Supervises all nursing functions at the health care site assigned including immediate supervision of Medical Assistants to assure con! formance with established standards and procedural requirements. Acts a! s the Director of Nursing designee in her absence at the site.• Participates in general and staff meetings as required.• Nurse Manager assists the VP/Director of Nursing and VP/Chief Medical Officer on matters relating to nursing practices and participates in development of policies and protocols for patient care.• Coordinates clinical activities and follow-up.• Nurse Manager provides leadership in the development of standards of care, patient/family education and staff education to address the needs of specific populations.• Nurse Manager guides the professional growth of others through preceptor, role modeling, coaching and/or mentoring• Provides leadership at a unit level for initiatives designed to improve the quality of care or clinical outcomes for populations of patients and growth of others. • Nurse Manager participates in CAMCARE HEALTH CORPORATION collaborative quality improvement activities and develops Plan-Do-Study-Acts. • Reports any patient or! staff issues to VP/Director of Nursing or Designee.• Participates in ongoing quality initiatives.
Qualifications• Active State of New Jersey RN license is required• Basic Certified Life Support is required• Bachelors of Science (RNs) preferred or other related bachelors degree.• 3 - 5 years OB/GYN nursing experience in medical center or community health care settings• One year experience as Head Nurse or Assistant Head Nurse desired• Bilingual preferred• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with a variety of professionals, ancillary, and administrative personnel• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills A competitive salary and comprehensive benefit package is offered, which includes: Medical, Vision, Dental, Prescription, Life Insurance, Tuition Reimbursement, 401K & Pension.
