Responsible for planning and development of Obstetrics, Gynecology, Gynecological Oncology, Gynecological Urology, Reproductive Endocrinology and Maternal Fetal Medicine services ! that are leading edge, high quality and competitive.

Organizes divisions of OB/GYN and appoints appropriate medical leadership for the respective divisions.

Develops clear expectations for these positions and holds physicians accountable for the high level of performance which includes superior outcomes and collaborative behaviors that support entire care team.

Develops Quality Improvement indicators and program review.

Leads the Obstetrics and Gynecology department in developing successful strategies for:

• Physician/Administrative/Nursing/Communications
• Appointing key physicians to program/project teams as required for program expansion.
• Case management
• Utilization of Nurse Midwives, NP’s and PA’s

Develops/implements Obstetrics and Gynecology information systems.

Establishes admission/discharge/transfer criteria for all relevant patient care units and areas.

Dev! elops standards of care that reflect highest quality, cost eff! icient care that provides the highest patient satisfaction.

Assists in the creation of benchmark practices that are reflected in day-to-day care, clinical pathways, new leading-edge technologies.

Provides direction and leadership for:

• The Division Directors and Attending physicians
• Residents/interns/medical students
• Fellows
• Teaching/GME
• Credentialing Standards
• Attendance at professional meetings, etc.
• Conflict resolution
• Clinical research

Chairs the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Executive Committee meetings and full department business meetings.

Works with the Residency Program Director to achieve mutually agreed upon educational goals for the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program.
